As reported on October 26th, 2015, NISSAN had announced that it would expand its fuel leak recall to include certain 2013 to 2016 Altima cars, certain 2016 Maxima models and some 2014 to 2016 Teana models that were assembled in Russia.

According to U.S. Safety Regulator documents, fuel could potentially leak from a seal between the vehicle’s fuel tank and fuel sending unit that could result in a fire as a result of an accident. Nissan reported that this problem was discovered in crash tests and that there has been no reports of injuries or fires as a result of the potential leaks.

This recall is expected to begin in the next few months and will be performed by the company’s network of dealers who will install retainer rings to reinforce and help assure an effective seal.
