Who other than our wonderful friends, the Tesoris, to be a part of the moment shared between the U.S Open champion, Gary Woodland, and his friend, Amy Bockerstette?!

Gary Woodland and Amy Bockerstette’s friendship began when Amy was able to play the 16th hole with Woodland and Matt Kuchar during a practice round at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in January. Amy was among a group of Special Olympic athletes that got the chance to meet some of the Tour players. Because she is believed to be the first athlete with Down syndrome to receive a college golf scholarship, she got to play the 16th hole with them. The video of Amy’s practice hole went viral and Michelle Tesori reached out to Amy’s mother and they have kept in contact ever since.

Amy and her family happened to be on the First Coast over the weekend and they made a trip to the Tesori’s home where they had a U.S. Open watch party. PGA Tour communication officials at Pebble Beach tracked down the Bockerstettes at the Tesori’s home and arranged a FaceTime call for Woodland and Amy after his post win news conference.

This is just one of the many reasons we love and support the Tesoris, their foundation, and all that it represents! Go check out their story and mission at http://tesorifamilyfoundation.org
